What You Will Do:
The Centre Supervisor is responsible for the overall management, organization, and daily operations of the centre, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and compliant environment for children, staff, and families.
- Oversee the daily operations of the childcare centre, including staff scheduling, classroom management, and maintaining a positive workplace culture.
- Monitor staff performance through regular classroom observations and provide ongoing support to promote morale, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements, including documentation, staff and child files, fire drills, playground inspections, maintenance, and centre policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with parents and guardians.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily documentation for classrooms, office operations, and playground activities.
- Plan and lead bi-monthly staff meetings to support communication, training, and team development.
- Promote positive attitudes, strong work ethics, and a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the centre, including office and shared spaces.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children and staff at all times.
- Monitor and manage daily attendance for both children and staff.
- Complete and submit all required reports (daily, monthly and annual) in a timely manner.
- Keep children’s emergency contact and immunization records accurate and up to date.
- Ensure staff-to-child ratios are consistently met in accordance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate enrolment records and up-to-date waitlists.
- Support the Owner/Director in overall centre operations and decision-making.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for both children and staff.
- Assess classroom needs and ensure all learning environments are well- organized and fully equipped.
- Conduct staff recruitment, including phone and in-person interviews.
- Train and onboard new staff in accordance with established training guidelines.
- Develop and manage staff schedules, including time-off requests, ensuring schedules are posted at least two weeks in advance.
What We're Looking For (Qualifications & Experience):
- Must be a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting (supervisory experience).
- Strong knowledge of childcare regulations, licensing requirements, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Current First Aid & CPR certification.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Immunization record (TDP, MMR and TB Test).
